ANGLE BV FOR COMPOSITE MANIFOLDS
2269
The angled valve is used as a supply/discharge valve for composite manifolds on the hot branch of the manifold when the pipe is routed from the bottom or top into the distribution cabinet. It is suitable for both heating and cooling.

HERZ ball valves have to be used as shut off elements. Field of application are building services, such as heating or chilled water plants. Ball valves are used wherever the medium flow has to be reliably closed. Ball valve should not be used as regulating element so it has to be fully opened or fully closed (the handle should not be in intermediate position.

Operating Data

Working pressure: max. 25 bar
Operating temperature range: -10 °C to +110 °C (for water +0.5 °C to +110 °C – without steam)
Medium: water (non-aggressive media)

The quality of heating water must comply with ÖNORM H5195 or VDI 2035 standards. The use of ethylene or propylene glycol in a mixing ratio of 25–50% is permitted. When using ethylene glycol products for frost and corrosion protection, follow the manufacturer's documentation.

Note: EPDM seals are sensitive to lubricants derived from mineral oils, which may cause failure of EPDM seals in valves that use them. The HERZ ball valve for heating and cooling water is not suitable for use with aggressive media (such as acids, alkalis, flammable, and explosive gases), as they may damage the sealing components.

Installation instructions

The pipe thread should be coated with an appropriate sealing material (string, PTFE tape, sealing paste). There must be no excess sealing material on the pipe, as it can damage the thread. The ball valve with thread (G, R) is screwed onto the pipe. Pipes must be properly aligned so that the valve is not subjected to bending torque. When using copper or plastic pipes, observe the pressure and temperature limits of the material used. When screwing the valve onto composite manifolds, use an appropriate flat gasket. For installation, use suitable assembly tools matched to the valve end connections (Sw, Sw1).
The ball valve can be installed in any position: horizontal, vertical or upside down. After installation, the fitter must check the tightness of the ball valve connections. Qualified personnel must comply with all engineering standards and applicable regulations. If impurities are present in the medium (hard water, dust, etc.), a filter must be installed, as otherwise contaminants can damage the valve seals.
